Public Speaking will give you power and confidence. Only a few speakers are natural born talents. Most outstanding professional speakers learn how to do it, so it’s never too late to pick up a few skills. Public speaking is good for your job, for your community life and even for your personal life. In this course you will develop confidence, increase your critical thinking and overcome nervousness by using the power of positive thinking and other innovative techniques. We will listen to and critique some of the great professional public speakers of our time. We will also focus on the “nuts and bolts” of public speaking, including how to select topics, prepare outlines, organize content, attain good speech delivery and polish your voice. You will also become acquainted with the different kinds of speaking situations that will translate into opportunities for you, the kinds of opportunities where you will be able to use your newly acquired public speaking skills.
