Beginning Korean

Language level: Beginning
The demand for Korean language and cultural, historical knowledge is increasing in Japanese society especially since the World Cup Games 2002 as well as cultural exchanges between the two countries. The contents of the class may be adjusted depending on the level and requests of the students. In general, we will start each session with easy, but intensive beginning level Korean language. Students will start by mastering the 24 basic Hangul consonants and vowels, short dialogue patterns based on situations that they are likely to face while talking to Koreans or working with them. In principle, the class will be conducted in English; however, a moderate amount of easy Japanese may be used due to the characteristics of the Korean language. In addition to learning correct pronunciation and grammar, students will acquire insight into the Korean culture, mentality and manners. This course will provide students with a solid foundation in basic level Korean language.
Instructor: (Iris) In Sook Park
Iris has been an instructor of Korean in Japan for more than five years. She holds a master's degree in Tourism management from Kyung Hee University and has worked as a flight attendant for an American airline.

日本と韓国との文化交流に加え、2002年のサッカーのワールドカップからは特に、韓国語やその文化や歴史などを学びたいと考えている人は増えています。クラス内容は学生の語学レベルと学生がどのようなことを学びたいかにより柔軟に対応します。一般的には24の基本的なハングル語の子音と母音を習得し、生活面や職場で日常的に交わされる会話のやりとりから始めます。クラスは英語で教えますが、必要に応じて日本語を使って説明する場合もあります。正しい発音と文法を学ぶのに加え、韓国語の文化や礼儀作法などにも触れます。受講者は、このクラスをとることで韓国語の基礎を確実に学ぶことができるでしょう。
講師：アイリス・パーク
日本で5年以上韓国語の講師を勤めている。Kyung Hee大学のツーリズムマネジメント専攻で修士号を取得し、アメリカの航空会社でフライトアテンダントとして勤務した経験を持つ。
